Our History

HMDG Foundation started its journey with the Golden Hospital (formerly known as Bengali Clinic) was established starting with only one outdoor patient and day care facility and no indoor facility. Despite the limitations, Dr. Dasgupta never stopped serving his patients with modern methods of treatment. He continued providing the highest level of healthcare services to any patient that wished to be served including the underprivileged population.

1987- Dr. Dasgupta upgraded medical care services by building a new indoor facility at the Golden Hospital. The hospital was renamed “Bengali Nursing Home and Poly Clinic”. This newly-updated facility was greeted with more medical specialties such as General Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, and Orthopedics.

2005- Dr. Dasgupta expanded the facility even further by adding a nursing home within the clinic and included the medical practices of Neurology, Urology, Nephrology, Gynecology Pathology, X- Ray service, and Ultrasonography. Over time, as Dr. Dasgupta gained more experience and produced excellent results in quality care, he expanded his work extensively and performed charity work by starting volunteer camps for all patients. He continued doing charity work with the help of his doctor team, but soon realized that despite the positive results of his charity work, he is still not able to root out the social problems of the people of Palwal and the surrounded villages. These unfortunate situations were mostly impacting women’s lives and children’s education. Knowing this, he began to include social awareness into his patient care.

2011- Dr. Dasgupta established the Hiranmoy Dasgupta Foundation to be the voice of the local community and to connect with the people at the grassroots level by addressing their health and social problems. The Hiranmoy Dasgupta Foundation was named after the father of the founder Dr. Ajay Das Gupta and began as a general medicine practice for the rural population such as pre-screening, diagnosis, medical examinations, and treatment. Patient care and awareness also included women’s health care and hygiene, children’s education, and women empowerment. Its mission was to shine the light of humanity on deprived communities in Palwal and its surrounding villages by fighting for the prevention of poverty and inequality. This mission would continue to build its reputation from its roots at the Golden Hospital with the intent to grow its message.

2012- A women reproductive health program was initiated at Palwal to provide medical care to pregnant women during and after pregnancy. This program included free check-ups with our gynecologist who provided medical examinations and treatment.

2014-2018-The Hiranmoy Dasgupta Foundation diligently worked at Palwal and its surrounding rural villages to promote healthcare awareness programs and education to outdoor patients. The program also included subject matter on women’s personal hygiene, Universal Day observation, Tuberculosis Awareness, and water hygiene awareness. The Hiranmoy Dasgupta Foundation team distributed dress shoes and educational aids to young school kids and encouraged them to continue their studies. The team also ran several awareness campaigns on immunization and followed up by providing medical treatment to the unprivileged community. The team of doctors scheduled regular check-ups and continued to educate them on the importance of personal hygiene.
In partnership with the Golden Hospital, the Hiranmoy Dasgupta Foundation team conducted a comprehensive Tuberculosis Awareness program to its outdoor patients. The joint teams discussed early symptom detection and treatment options to cure it.
The Hiranmoy Dasgupta Foundation initiated a clean water awareness campaign in rural villages of Palwal district with the aim of reducing and fully preventing cases of water-borne diseases. The local population was educated about the importance of using clean water.
